1 in 4 people lack safe access to drinking water. Solaq creates a new, sustainable source of water security, anywhere in the world, by producing water from the air around us. They have developed a system that is able to use heat rather than electricity, lowering costs of the produced water, and making it possible to extract water from the air at much lower humidities. The containerised technology is designed to be simple, maintainable and scalable. It can be used flexibly with different energy sources (off-grid solar, grid-connected or waste-heat), is transportable and can be maintained by local partners. Starting with rural areas worldwide, our aim is to deliver drinking water to those experiencing severe water shortages. We provide affordable drinking water to communities as well as sustainable water for agriculture and industry in water-scarce regions around the globe. With a production capacity of 5000 liters per day, independent of climate, the technology offers a safe, sustainable, reliable and affordable alternative to water transport.
