About Us Meet our team With more than 85 years of combined experience, LIV Capitals team is a group of seasoned professionals with strong track record and regional experience. Humberto Zesati has over 17 years of Venture Capital and Private Equity investment experience in Mexico and the U.S. mainly in the TMT and services sectors. Since 2006, Mr. Zesati has been the Managing Partner and co-founder of Latin Idea Ventures, the platform for Fund II, LIMOF and future investment vehicles. In January 2000, he became the CEO and Founding Partner of Latin Idea.com, L.L.C., the predecessor of Latin Idea Ventures, now LIV Capital. Previously, from 1996 to 1999, Mr. Zesati was the co-CEO and co-Founding Partner of VPN Desarollo Inmobiliario S.A. de C.V., a leading Mexican real estate developer. From 1993 to 1996, he was a Managing Partner in Grupo Infinitti, S.A. de C.V., a tourism-oriented real estate development company. After graduating from college, Mr. Zesati was Finance Manager at Periódico Ovaciones, one of Mexicos leading newspapers. Mr. Zesati received an MBA from New York Universitys Stern School of Business and a BA in Economics from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. He sits on the board of directors of several Mexican companies and is fluent in Spanish and English. Humberto Zesati Managing Partner Alexander R. Rossi has over 24 years of Private Equity and Investment Banking experience in the U.S. and Latin America, where he has successfully completed over 50 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of U.S. $3.5 billion. Mr. Rossi is co-founder and Managing Partner of Latin Idea Ventures, now LIV Capital. Previously, Mr. Rossi was Managing Director and head of Latin America for Communications Equity Associates, LLC (CEA), a merchant and investment bank specialized in the media, communications and technology sectors. Mr. Rossi has also been Vice President at Bancomer Securities International, a Mexican investment bank, where Mr. Rossi focused on Mexican Mergers Acquisitions and Corporate Finance transactions. Prior to that, Mr. Rossi was an Associate with the Latin American Group at Smith Barney, Inc. Additionally, Mr. Rossi spent two years in Argentina with the boutique investment banking firm, Prefinex S.A. He was trained as an Analyst in Corporate Finance at Paine Webber Incorporated. Currently Mr. Rossi sits on the boards of various Mexican companies; is a board member and President of the VC Committee of AMEXCAP (Asociación Mexicana de Capital Privado); presides over the Access to Capital Subcommittee of the MUSEIC (the Mexico-USA Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council) and is member of the LAVCA VC Council and EMPEA Latin American Council. Rossi Managing Partner Miguel Ángel Dávila has over 24 years of professional experience and is recognized as one of Mexicos most successful entrepreneurs. In late 2009, Mr. Dávila joined Latin Idea Ventures (which was rebranded as LIV Capital in 2015) as a Partner. From 1993 to 2008, he was co-founder and CEO of Cinemex, one of the largest and most successful venture capital investments in Mexico, and he has a proven track record in developing companies from initial business plan to large, profitable and institutionalized businesses (including with over US$140 million in revenues). Throughout his entire career, Mr. Dávila has participated as an angel investor in several businesses related to the service sector, such as Grupo Impulsor Prado Norte and Tiendas 3B. From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Davila worked as a business analyst in McKinsey Company in the Mexico City office. Mr. Dávila received an MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston, MA, and a CPA degree from ITAM in Mexico City. He is currently an active member of several institutions that promote entrepreneurial activity in Mexico, such as Endeavor Mexico and Endeavor Global Advisory Board, and sits on the boards of directors of several Mexican companies. Miguel Ángel Dávila Managing Partner Mariana Romero has more than 7 years of legal experience in corporate finance with a focus on Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Capital Markets among others. Prior to joining LIV in May 2013, Mariana was an Associate at Chadbourne Parke, LLP, where she advised clients on general corporate matters and was involved in the design and implementation of corporate mechanisms. While there, she was instrumental in the design of investment funds through Mexican and foreign entities, and focused primarily on the organization and direction of Limited Partnerships. Mariana has represented issuers, underwriters, and servicers in public offerings, as well as lenders and borrowers in structured credit facilities. Thomas Baldwin Vice President Gabriel has a solid experience working internationally for in Pharmaceutical and Consumer Packed Goods with multinational companies for 20 years such as Pfizer, Baxter, Pepsico and Stiefel Labs (GSK company) in areas related to Corporate Finance, business development, trademark acquisitions and divestitures, joint business partnerships in selling, manufacturing and marketing, Go-to market initiatives, corporate finance and Business Intelligence Financial Management systems implementations. Additionally, Gabriel has proven solid knowledge in the whole process related with the startup of new operations in Latin America, sales management, global manufacturing plants, distribution logistics operations, audits and digital marketing. Gabriel has expressed that due to the confidential nature of these different processes, he has been very hands on and know how to run financial and commercial operations, including revenue, manufacturing costs, selling and marketing budget, profitability analysis and legal health of the brands. Gabriel possesses two master degrees: International Finance accounting from Florida International University (FIU) and an MBA from ITAM with specialization in marketing and general management. He recently obtained in 2010 a CPA in USA. He is chemical Engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana graduated with honors. Gabriel Bourgoing CFO Lea Díaz has 3 years of Financial experience in México. Ms. Diaz joined LIV in September 2011. Previously, from 2010 to 2011 Ms. Diaz worked as a junior analyst at Credit Suisse in the investment banking group. In 2010 Ms. Diaz received a BA in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She is fluent in Spanish and English. Lea Díaz Associate Augustin Guéret has 3 years of Finance and Venture Capital experience in México, Paris and Buenos Aires. He joined LIV in March 2014. Prior to joining the Fund, Mr. Guéret worked as analyst for Venture Partners in México, Crédit Agricole CIB in Argentina, and BNP Paribas in Paris. Additionally he created the Ibero International Sustainability Congress where he acted as president of the organising committee. He is fluent in Spanish and English. Victor Basaguren Senior Analyst Santiago de la Vega has 1+ years of Financial Experience in Wholesale Banking and Project Finance. Mr. de la Vega joined LIV in 2014. From 2013 to 2014, Mr. De la Vega worked in a one-year rotation program at the wholesale banking division for Banorte-IXE, Mexican Commercial Bank. Santiago de la Vega Senior Analyst Alexandra Reuter joined LIV Capital as an Associate in 2016. Previously, Alexandra was a Consultant at Bain Company in Mexico City, where she focused on conglomerate strategy, supply chain, and portfolio management in the pharmaceutical and bottling industries. Prior to Bain, Alexandra spent 3 years working as a Research Analyst at Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), and as a Macroeconomics Professor at the Universidad Católica Andres Bello in Venezuela. Alexandra holds a BA in Economics from Universidad Católica Andres Bello, and an MBA with a major in Strategic Management from the Wharton School, where she was awarded the Diane and Robert Levy Fellowship. Prior to Everis, Alex spent three years working in Polimeros Sinteticos, a resin manufacturer, as an Investment Project Manager and Purchasing Director. Additionally, he created the Ibero International Sustainability Congress where he acted as Vice President of the organizing committee. Alex Podolski Analyst Jose Saucedo has over 2 years experience in the consumer goods industry. He joined LIV Capital in 2015. Prior to working in the Fund, Mr. Saucedo worked in a 1+ year rotation program at Mondelez International. He is also co-founder of Adamata Bouldering, Yoga Wellness center, where he acts as a member of the board of directors. José Saucedo Analyst William Narchi recently became part of the Liv Capital team as analyst intern in 2015. Previously William worked in his own e-commerce company. He is finishing his studies in industrial engineering with degree in finance. William Narchi Analyst Miriam Corona joined LIV in 2014 as Office Manager. She has over 23 years experience in marketing, promotion, public relations and administration; her experience ranges from sports channels, pay television systems, film companies, real estate and customer loyalty plans. In 1999, Ms. Corona was involved in the launch of Fox Sports Latin America, in 2007 she participated in the relaunch of the loyalty program Invitado Especial Cinemex, and in 2010 she led the Marketing and Administrative area of the company that created the first loyalty program for a government in Latin America. Her experience also includes operational and management processes with for example Fox Television Group and Mexico Retail Properties, where she worked with the consolidation of the operation and management of shopping centers, and was responsible for successfully managing the assigned resources. Miriam Corona Office Manager María Infante has almost 10 years of experience in sectors like editorial houses, haute horlogerie, private equity funds and startups. Prime to LIV Capital, María directed and founded Corazón de Huichol in Jalisco, Mexico. At Corazón de Huichol María organized and supervised the artisan´s work, was in charge of strategic planning, product design, market research, project management, tech, human, and financial management, as well as the fundraising of the startup. Ms. Infante also worked as Mergers Acquisitions Assistant, leaded a company located in Quintana Roo, Mexico to the final stage of the National Technology Award organized by the Ministry of Economics and saved $5,000,000mxn distributed in three different projects. She has a Psychology Degree and a Project Management certification. Now her work is focused at LIV´s Office Management María Infante Administrative Services Chief Rebeca Commesse has more than 5 years of experience in administrative areas. She joined LIV in 2014 as Receptionist and Administrative Assistant for all areas. She has previously worked as a Sales Assistant, engaging in Import and Export processes dealing with Mexican companies that had business in Europe and Asia. She is fluent in English and Spanish and currently her main interest is concluding her studies in French as a third language that will complement her performance in administrative activities and customer service. Rebeca Commesse Receptionist Magdalena Marroquin joined LIV in February 2015 as Accounting Analyst. She has over five years experience in internal control, accounting, and Corporate Governance. since 2010 to 2013 she was working in Deloitte as internal control and Corporate governance, in 2014 she received the invitation to work in USA as accounting analyst, and she also has been participated in missionary trips in Haiti and inside of México helping to develop accounting procedures for ONG. Magdalena received a BA in Accounting and Finance from UDEM (Universidad de Monterrey). She was elected president of Accounting and Finance student`s association. She got a full scholarship as excelling academic in UDEM, and also she was in a Student Exchange program in Arizona. she is fluent in spanihs and English.
